Change and Transition
Change happens to you. Life offers many situations beyond your control to reassess your beliefs and values. Transition happens within you as you organize the experience in a narrative that enables you to learn from it and become a wiser version of yourself.
There is not a specific order. Sometimes, your ideas, beliefs, and values shift and the structure that sustained your decision-making process no longer serves you. As you view the world from this renewed perspective, you make changes to the outside order of your world. Even if you are not conscious of it, the logic and motivation behind your behavior will attract and repel different people and circumstances.
Other occasions, change takes place first. It can find you with an explosion: everything you held dear and true shakes and crumbles. Change can also be slow, steady, and irrevocable until you realize you are incapable of functioning without adjusting to it.
