Meet Tania

Tania Gerard

You are feeling confused; a bit overwhelmed, maybe stuck.

You would like to make brave choices outside of what is conventional. You have decided to become the person you want to be, even if that means not having a script or many models to follow.

You are living your life on your terms: it just happens that those terms are not always crystal clear, especially when there is so much pressure from your environment to "come back" to the scripted path.

I know how you are feeling. I grew up in a very traditional Mexican family, with clear expectations for me and my future: a successful husband, a few kids, a beautiful house, two cars, and maybe a dog. For as long as I can remember, this just didn't sound appealing to me, but I didn't want to disappoint my family and was willing to "give it a try."

Rolling along, I got married and started a "family friendly" job a few years after graduating from college. Although I wasn´t ready to have children, I was constantly under pressure to hurry up and have them. Big changes usually start with a small, simple move: I had always loved books and magazines, so I began to look for something more challenging that would include working in print media.

And this is how the story of my genuine life started. I landed my dream job in a print media design firm. I quickly went from a glorified secretary to the print team's Project Manager, traveled most days of the week, most weeks of the year.

I learned things about other people and me as my context expanded. I discovered what high stress is, and the effects it has on our bodies and minds. I shared offices and sleep deprivation with people that have become dear life-long friends. I understood that the life I intended to live was not mine, I was just trying to fulfill somebody else's expectations.

Tania in a nutshell

  • 17 houses, 8 cities, 3 countries, 2 languages.
  • My Journey to Congruency started on January 13th, 2003.
  • Multipotentialite. Favorite fields are communication, anthropology, process design, project management, history, and coaching.
  • Two daughters. When I'm not playing mom, I'm reading, painting, or watching a good movie.
  • My favorite way to connect body and mind is through a good Zumba class.

It was January when I quit everything. I left the marriage, the job. I left the perfection, left the stuff. I was 28 years old and ready to discover who I was and what I wanted to create. I traveled for three years around Mexico, volunteering for non-profits and working for small locally owned companies.

By 32 I was ready to move on to the next phase of my exploration. I had decided that I did want to be a mother and make a living helping people find fulfillment and happiness on their terms.

I have seen many different ways to be a person on this planet. I have created a life based on what I believe and what matters to me. I enjoy close relationships with people that value my unconventionality, love me and support me to become a better person. My two girls are my main reason to wake up every morning and try to make their world a little bit better.

At my mid-forties, I have been looking at a new question. How can I make sure that my next 40 years will be as exciting, congruent, and valuable as these last two decades? As I help my clients plan, explore, and learn from their Journey to Congruency, I also delve into this sustainability matter with those who are ready to do it.

There are two ways we can work together:

  • We can establish a coaching relationship where we will articulate your vision and bring it into your life, carefully tailored to your uniqueness. Or,
  • You can sign up to my group programs and enjoy the benefits of self-paced discovery and a warm community to share your findings.

I offer you caring and respectful listening. I have the absolute conviction that you know what is best for you, and my role is to be a helping hand for you to figure it out. I will support you to say out loud what you want, in a way that makes sense and makes it happen.

I create these products and services for you because I want you to be able to live on your own terms, trusting your decisions, and enjoying the process of discovering the life you are creating. I can walk with you from wherever you are right now and help you create Congruency.

It doesn't matter how strange, unusual, or different it seems right now. Your unconventionality is your gift to yourself and the world.

If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be. Maya Angelou

I want you to feel in the right place, at the right time every single day of your life. I want you to know that you do make the best decisions and therefore you can always trust yourself. I want you to feel that your life makes sense and that you enjoy every second of it.

Let us begin your Journey to Congruency!
